Nicole and I took a trip to “Uganda’s ONLY Skating Rink” above the casino in Kampala.
The rink has no ice. At first we were confused. Then very disappointed. It was an emotional rollercoaster.
An employee explained that ice is too hard to maintain in a hot climate, so you just put on skates and push yourself around on the white plastic! We decided to save our $3 and not try it out (he also said they had never sharpened the skates).

Actually, synthetic ice rinks are supposed...be pretty good (and somewhat expensive too!)....
