This week I went with Maureen to visit her cousin’s class at a school nearby here. What she didn’t tell me about her cousin (named Dorcas) is that she’s deaf! They have a whole deaf class at this school, and we had so much fun!
Dorcas’ class uses sign language and they’re one of the friendliest groups of kids in Africa, I think. They finger spelled their names for me, and gave me my own “sign name”. They have one hearing impaired teacher and one hearing teacher. They also have very bright uniforms. Dorcas is the lovely girl on the right at the back.
